FERC is a confessional and evangelical church, and hence we believe that the Great Commission of our Lord Jesus given to His disciples and recorded in the Bible continues to be relevant to us today. In this respect, the Mission Committee of FERC has been established in order to ensure that the work of local missions and evangelism stands as a key ministry of the church. The "mission" of the FERC Mission Committee is two-fold. First, our task is to spread the gospel of truth. This focus of the committee really concentrates on the work of local missions. As a church, activities toward this end include the organization of gospel meetings, the production of good reformed Christian tracts in both the English and Chinese languages, and occasional tracting events around the vicinity and neighbourhoods of FERC.
We also, believe, however, that it is each individual believer's responsibility to also lead a life geared towards ministering and spreading the gospel to unbelievers. This leads us to the second main mission of the committee - to foster a spirit of evangelism among the membership. To that end, the committee organizes regular programs such as mission seminars and lecture series focussed on topics such as the role and importance of the work of missions and practical evangelism. While most of this work is done outside of the pulpit ministry, the committee also arranges for Church pastors to speak occasionally on the importance of evangelism during worship services. Church members are also encouraged to attend the lectures and seminars organized by the committee, as well as events such as tracting.
